The Crouch Tennis Club

It is not known by many Seafordians of today, but there was a thriving Tennis Club at the Crouch Gardens. In fact Seafordians of my age remember being allowed to play on the grass courts when we were children.
The tennis courts boundary was Mercread Road back gardens, where the childrens small football pitch and play area is now.
